Finding joy in the journey...

Image
"... and find satisfaction in all their toil  - this is the gift of God." Eccl 3:13 Solomon, the wisest man earth has ever seen, said this:  "I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. " (Eccl 3: 12-13) To most of people, life seems to be a journey in which they labor, labor, labor and every now and then they will experience some measure of satisfaction. It is like, people set a few things they wish to accomplish in life and then spend the rest of it toiling in order to achieve them, and whenever any of them is achieved, they will experience some time (a day, a week, if much a month) of joy and then, it will start all over again: another season of much work and little satisfaction. D ays are seen as ordinary and not special at all until the next "special big event" in life comes

Passover: moving towards a NEW TIME in our lives!

"It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord,  who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt  and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians." Exodus 12:27 The Jewish people spent around 430 years under slavery in Egypt. But God had better plans in mind for them, for He didn´t designed any of us to be bound (to anything!) - for even when we speak of our own relationship with God, he want no prisoners! He has designed each one of us to be loved and as we receive (perceive) this love we are able to love back.  We love him, because he first loved us.  1 John 4:19 In the Jewish calendar, April (the month of Nissan) is the first month of their year (Exodus 12:2). Therefore, Easter/Passover is a time of a new beginning for it celebrates a time free from bondage and a new time ahead towards experiencing all the goodness and the fulfillment of every good promise from God´s heart to his children. No ordinary mind...

“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”  But we have the mind of Christ.  1 Corinthians 2:16 The brain is the most complex organ in the human body and definitely the most complex creation present on this universe.  It is interesting that many things that neuroscience reveals are just facts that we can see throughout the bible. They say that our achievements are designed by our beliefs. If I (truly) believe I can climb a mountain, my brain sends this message to the cells in my body and they start working in that direction. I am not saying that I will be able to do it right away, but my brain will start shaping my next decisions in that direction (like deciding to start working out, hiking, etc.)...taking small steps towards a great step.  The opposite is also true. When we believe we cannot do something, likewise our brain sends this info to our cells and they won´t respond before such circumstances. Again, it is a matter of belief.

God´s perspective of time

"But forget not this one thing, beloved,  that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years,  and a thousand years as one day."  2 Peter 3:8 Peter, one of Jesus´ disciples, learned a precious lesson about time. When Jesus revealed them that it was TIME for him to die, Peter was immediately against it, for he didn´t think it was TIME for Jesus to die, it was TOO early.  Matha, Lazarus´ sister, said to Jesus , “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” (John 11:21). She was convicted that Jesus arrived AFTER the proper TIME, in other words, he was TOO late. Most of the time we either think it is NOT the time for something to happen, or it IS PAST time for something to happen; this constant war in our head leads us to this place of unrestlessness.  Because our earthly time is limited, we usually get preoccupied with controlling the time when each event is to take place in our lives. Nevertheless, we need to FORGET NOT that God i
