Being a living magnet: attracting good things...

Surely goodness and mercy

One of the greatest issues in our hearts is doubting. It is like we KNOW in a way that God is good and He blesses us in many ways but we usually see it as a matter of SEASONS. There are seasons when we are happy, healthy, blessed... others not so! and this causes us not to be so SURE that things will be alright all the time. 

But king David, even after facing great hardships (riots, persecution, betrayals), he would NOURISH one THOUGHT in his heart: THE ASSURANCE that God´s goodness and love would follow him ALL THE DAYS of his life.

The only weapon against doubt is assurance. So we can always fight doubts in our hearts by simply declaring "SURELY his goodness and mercy will follow me"... We also see the prophet Isaiah teaching us such truth concerning our health (physical and emotional): 

-Surely- he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows... (Isaiah 53:4)

But how could we be so sure of that? We tend to look at our behavior and heart in order to find something that would make us worthy of such goodness, and whenever we look at ourselves we will find more faults than qualities and then we feel unqualified for such daily goodness - causing doubts to arise! But the answer for that matter lies in JESUS WITHIN US. It is not about us. 

For you died [to this world], 
and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. 
Colossians 3:3 (AMP)

Say it: Surely His goodness and love will follow me... In Hebrew, the word "follow" is radaph which means chase, persecute, run after. Before a magnet, a pin has no choice but to be attracted by the magnet. So are God´s goodness and blessings regarding our lives! Not because of ourselves, but because of Christ in us! Jesus attracts every blessing, for all blessings are in Him (Ephesians 1:3).

Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life.
Psalm 23:6 (MSG)

So rely your confidence in Jesus´ nature, His righteousness, His goodness. Christ in you will cause good things to CHASE AFTER YOU every day ... let us open up our hearts to receive this promise of daily goodness! It is all about Him! And He is now IN YOU so rise up and declare it every day: SURELY your goodness and love shall chase after me every day of my life - I am a living magnet!

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

Taking delight in God´s will...

I often wondered why it seemed to be so hard for us to accept God´s will.  Thinking about this, two things come to my mind: 1) Most of the time we are convinced that our own plans are the BEST way to attain our goals, to reach that place of peace and happiness; 2) We are not aware of God´s LOVE and the fact that every bit of His will has its root in HIS DEEP LOVE towards us. Learning to manage time...

To every thing there is a season,  and a time to every purpose under the heaven... Ecclesiastes 3:1  Nowadays one of people´s greatest excuses is: "I don´t have time". But it really amazes me  how that Jesus seemed to have time to every little and big thing as he walked on earth! It is interesting to think that, besides all the daily concerns people normally have (working, making the bed, doing the dishes, being with family...), Jesus was here on earth as GOD as well, so we could sum up some more  concerns there!  YET, he was not moved by schedules, but by love and compassion.  When Jesus saw her, He felt great compassion for her,  and said to her, “Do not weep.”  Luke 7:13 It amazes me how that he would manage his agenda. A number of times we read passages showing that he made his communion with the Father his priority!
