A God who remembers...!

...and the Lord remembered Hannah.
1 Samuel 1:19

We all have hundreds of things that We ask the Lord for, but it seems like some prayers are forever kept unanswered! Oftentimes it feels like such prayers are not even heard or have been forgotten through the years.

In the bible we read the story of Hannah, who experienced something similar! Hannah was married to Elkanah but couldn´t bear children for she was barren. Hannah had an amazing marriage. Her husband was very good to her, but regardless of how blessed she was in that area of her life, she truly desired a child of her own!

Delight yourself in the Lord,
And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.
Psalm 37:4 (AMP)

Most of us, when our wishes don´t seem to come to pass, we go to friends, we cry, we complain, we talk about our frustration...and there is nothing really wrong about that! Hannah did the same! She would go to her husband and tell him how frustrated she was about it all. There is really nothing wrong about talking to dear ones about it, but we shouldn´t forget to KEEP on bringing all our sorrows and desires before the One who holds all universe on his hands.

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory (...)
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Hebrews 1:3

At a specific year, Hannah brought her issue before God wholeheartedly and came back to her daily life. Later on, the bible says that "The Lord remembered her"... it is truly amazing to be reminded that we are God´s children and that it COMES A TIME when He remembers our petitions and answers them! We are tempted to give up praying, give up trusting, give up pursuing our goals and dreams... but our Father never gives up doing all things to see his children´s joy! Being remembered by God is not an old covenant´s privilege! It is for today, it is for us, right here and right now! It is our privilege too!!

So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, which means,
“Because I asked the Lord for him.”
1 Samuel 1:20

No matter how long it takes, we need to remember and have this truth firmly established in our hearts: God remembers it! To remember doesn´t mean that He had forgotten it, but simply that  He came to THINK about us at that moment and grant us our petition. We have a good Father who constantly thinks about us and works for our good!

How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Psalm 139:17

May this thought, of a God who remembers and who answers us, permeate our hearts today! We, humans, may forget things...but He is God and his love neither his memory ever fails! ;)

Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14
