Believing God for improbable things in your life!



 ...for the Mighty One has done 
great things for me;
Luke 1:49


Take a moment and consider the greatness of the cosmos. The sky, the oceans, the mountains, the sun... things displayed in the universe are way TOO beautiful to have been created by an explosion. Such beautiful things and great things must have been created by a being who is equally great and beautiful! 

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 
Psalm 19:1

If all these things are so wonderful, what can we say about US human beings - you are his MASTERPIECE!  God had YOU in mind when he created all these things - it was for your pleasure and delight! If such a lovely God like Him cares enough about you to take out time to creat beautiful and great things, won´t he do the smaller things too?

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us ALL things? 
Romans 8:32

I want us to consider how powerful our God is. Creation around us displays his power and majesty! Jesus reflects his beauty and joy! We have a happy Father who really cares about everything concerning us and we should be aware that He not only have ALL power to do the impossible, but He is also willing to do the IMPROBABLE. 

Most of time we face things that are actually possible in a broad sense (winning the lottery, becoming a CEO for a big company), but most of time such things are not probable considering our circumstances and skills. We should know that God is not only a God of the impossible, but also of the IMPROBABLE. He will do improbable things in our lives. 

I have found David my servant; 
with my holy oil have I anointed him.
Psalm 89:20

David is a great example of that! who would imagine that a shepherd boy would become a great king? impossible? no! improbable? totally! But, our mighty God will do the improbable things for you as well! Trust his great power! He not only has power for that, but he has ALL power for that and much more! PLUS: he is WILLING to do that. He is not against you, He is for you! 

Jesus  said “I am willing, be clean!” 
And immediately the leprosy left him.
Luke 5:13

So get ready for the improbable to happen in your life - that promotion, a marriage, an income raise, harmony in your family, find lost itens...God is ALL mighty! He is willing! It is not about you and what you can do to make things happen, it is not about your power and skills, but His power and will! You are deeply loved. Raise your expectations about what an ALL-MIGHTY God can and will do for you in your life! Remember what He did for David, and claim the same for your own life! If he did it for David, He will do it for you!

Taking delight in God´s will...

I often wondered why it seemed to be so hard for us to accept God´s will.  Thinking about this, two things come to my mind: 1) Most of the time we are convinced that our own plans are the BEST way to attain our goals, to reach that place of peace and happiness; 2) We are not aware of God´s LOVE and the fact that every bit of His will has its root in HIS DEEP LOVE towards us. We have been deceived by being led to think that God only displays his will in order to mess up with our own plans. Submitting to his will often sounds like we are being nulyfied; it is usually not taken as a reason for joy, but for sorrow. Being a living magnet: attracting good things...

Surely goodness and mercy  shall follow me all the days of my life...  Psalm 23:6 One of the greatest issues in our hearts is doubting. It is like we KNOW in a way that God is good and He blesses us in many ways but we usually see it as a matter of SEASONS. There are seasons when we are happy, healthy, blessed... others not so! and this causes us not to be so SURE that things will be alright all the time .  But king David, even after facing great hardships (riots, persecution, betrayals), he would NOURISH one THOUGHT in his heart: THE ASSURANCE that God´s goodness and love would follow him ALL THE DAYS of his life. The only weapon against doubt is assurance. So we can always fight doubts in our hearts by simply declaring "SURELY his goodness and mercy will follow me"... We also see the prophet Isaiah teaching us such truth concerning our health (physical and emotional):  -Surely- he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows... (Isaiah 53:4)

Learning to manage time...

To every thing there is a season,  and a time to every purpose under the heaven... Ecclesiastes 3:1  Nowadays one of people´s greatest excuses is: "I don´t have time". But it really amazes me  how that Jesus seemed to have time to every little and big thing as he walked on earth! It is interesting to think that, besides all the daily concerns people normally have (working, making the bed, doing the dishes, being with family...), Jesus was here on earth as GOD as well, so we could sum up some more  concerns there!  YET, he was not moved by schedules, but by love and compassion.  When Jesus saw her, He felt great compassion for her,  and said to her, “Do not weep.”  Luke 7:13 It amazes me how that he would manage his agenda. A number of times we read passages showing that he made his communion with the Father his priority!
