You don´t need money, you need perfume!

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;

and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!

Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost."

Isaiah 55:1

What do you do when your heart is troubled? Sometimes we try to do things to calm our hearts but most of times the solution is rather temporary. The only thing that can truly bring rest to our hearts is to hear the Lord speaking right to it, so a good strategy is to simply ASK HIM to speak to your heart in times of trouble. He might speak to you through someone, or the bible, or a child, or in a dream, like He did to me a couple of weeks ago. 

In the dream Jesus would come and speak to me through a person saying "you don´t need money, you need perfume". When I woke up I asked the Holy Spirit what he meant by such words and I started pondering some things.

Oil and perfume make the heart glad...

Proverbs 27:9

Money usually comes as a reward for our labour. Whenever we are troubled we think that we need to do something in order to change things. And when it comes to life in general, we pretty much think that money would make us a bit more satisfied. 

 And he came near, and kissed his son: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the Lord hath blessed.

Genesis 27:27

But what about the perfume? We don´t need to do anything in order to be pleased by the smell. Breathing doesn´t really cost us anything. It is natural. If a good-smelling person walks in the room, we get to enjoy the aroma by simply standing next to the person. If this person hugs you, you might get their smell by the mere contact with her/him.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

The word translated as "wait" in the scripture above means "to bind together (by twisting)" in Hebrew. That means, when we are united with the one who doesn´t not grow weary, who is strong, all his attributes stick to us, just like perfume! Our father is rich! Therefore, we don´t need money, all we need is to GET CLOSE AND CLOSER to Him whose pleasure is to bless us with everything He has and is. 

Who satisfies your years with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Psalm 103:5

So get ready to experience all that God is and has in your life  by being united with Him in Christ Jesus. He is strong, wise, unshakable, unstoppable, gracious, holy, rich, patient, kind, faithful, loving, true, (and the list goes on)... the point is: all that is FREELY available to us by simply being aware that such "perfume" is already on us! 

But the one who is united and joined to the Lord 

is one spirit with Him.
