When crisis comes...

They will not be ashamed in the time of evil,
And in the days of famine they will have plenty and be satisfied.
Psalm 37:19

In our lives there are many moments we will say we are going through a time of crisis. It may be crisis related to finances, career, family, or some inner crisis which we may not even be sure what could causing it. The fact is: there are some words that just the mention of them causes us to panic, and crisis is one of them! But I believe that understanding what crisis really means could ignite our inner being to rise stronger than ever and keep moving on instead of freezing and simply waiting till that "bad time" is gone.

In the way of righteousness is life:
and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
Proverbs 12:28

Although the word crisis is understood as having a negative sense, the origin of it shows its real meaning: -krisis- a turning point, leading to a decisive change. This word was first used by the medicine to describe the point in the course of a serious disease at which a decisive change occurred, leading either to recovery or to death.

We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles,
but we’re not demoralized;
we’re not sure what to do,
but we know that God knows what to do;
we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side;
we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (MSG)

So whenever we notice a time of crisis coming our way, that actually means that a turning point is coming our way! Now here is the good news: when we are in CHRIST, crisis is always a turning point that leads to a BETTER place or condition in life for us!

The righteous will never be uprooted,

but the wicked will not remain in the land.

 Proverbs 10:30

The whole world may be affected by breakdowns ... and even when it seems to come our way, they won´t move our spirit! Like a tree under a heavy storm, although it may swing from one side to another, it won´t be uprooted. It is not about our own capacity to stand firm but about in WHOM we have put our trust. Jesus is the one who grants us good success in whatever we do! Jesus is our solid Rock on which we stand!

So when crisis seems to surround us, may we look at it with confidence that it is a turning point that will lead us to a land of much more success and satisfaction. How we look at that decisive moment will determine its outcome. So look at it with the confidence of a child of God, for the Father´s good pleasure is always to bless you even through uncommon ways! Remember: there is no crisis for you, only turning points! Something new is coming your way and believe me, it is something amazing!!

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;
do you not perceive it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19
