One thing to remember...

"O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years,
In the midst of the years make it known..."
Habakkuk 3:2

It is past half of the year of 2017, and I ask you... are you as excited and encouraged as you probably were by January 1st? Whenever a new year begins, we feel refreshed and renewed, we feel God´s promises renewed in our hearts and minds but it looks like that feeling and awareness simply fade away as the days go by. But the good news is: it DOESN´T have to be so!

As we feel like our energy is being drained and our hope is doing down, we should look up towards those same things that set our hearts on fire at the beginning.

Everything around us will try to show us that this year isn´t going to be as good as we expected at first. The prophet Jeremiah went through a similar experience and he describes it in the book of Lamentations 3:21-24 (MSG):

"I’ll never forget the trouble,(...) the feeling of hitting the bottom.
But there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left."

Although he had a bunch of troubles around him, he would recall to his mind ONE THING: the loyalty of His heavenly Father whose LOVE AND MERCY are renewed not every January 1st, but every morning! Jesus doesn´t change from one year to another, neither in the midst of year. He and his love are the same yesterday, today and forevermore (Heb 13:8)!

Every number in the bible has a meaning, and the number 17 means COMPLETE VICTORY. So, keep THAT in mind! Nourish your heart with this truth. It is not because things are not going the way we expected that we need to bow down before failure and discouragement. God´s word cannot fail.

"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:11

And what is this purpose He is talking about?

"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;"
Isaiah 55:12

God hasn´t changed his mind from the beginning of the year to this moment and will never do! So ask Him to revive your heart in the midst of the years as you focus on his promises and put your hope on what He said from the beginning! Bring those things to your remembrance! It is a year of COMPLETE VICTORY and nothing is going to change that!
