One sows, YOU reap!

"Do you not say, ‘It is still four months until the harvest comes?’ Look, I say to you, raise your eyes and look at the fields and see, they are white for harvest."
John 4:35

A harvest is the consequence of much labor: plowing, sowing, watering... each step of this process points to the final goal - the reaping! In life, we are always looking forward to the day of our reaping, and -back in our minds- there is always still quite some time left till it comes.

However, Jesus is teaching us something different here! He is inviting us to LIFT UP OUR EYES and SEE, harvest is HERE already! The solution of some difficult situation we may face won´t come after a time, it IS there before our eyes already! Graham Cooke puts it this way: every problem comes with provision attached to it!  So true!

We, Christians, tend to be future-focused people. We receive God´s promises and think they are somewhere in the future and we end up missing the beauty of today! That´s why Jesus said, don´t say it´s still four months till harvest comes... open your eyes and see what is right before you!

Jesus is showing us that there is a DAILY reaping available for us even NOW! And if there is a daily reaping, there is a daily joy!! While Jesus walked on earth 2000 years ago, he didn´t live waiting for things that would happen in the future. He knew that every new day was suitable for a miracle! He would see every day as a opportunity to display and to live God´s goodness and glory. He knew there was a daily reaping, and mind you: the benefits of all that was reaped by those who -simply- crossed his way! Even now, Jesus is not waiting for a "certain" day to bless us, or for us to do "certain things" before He blesses us. He said on the cross, "it is done", therefore we are blessed! Now.

One may still say, but before reaping, we need to work hard first. But God´s logic is not always so logical for us! This is the way he puts is:

"I sent you to reap what you have not worked for.
Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.” John 4:38

It may sound too good to be true. We are not used to things being so easy... but all this goodness has a name: GRACE! It is the favor of God that rests upon his children.

"Blessings crown the head of the righteous"
Proverbs 10:6

Jesus has done the hard work, and now our work is to fully trust his goodness and love, open our eyes and SEE the daily reaping right in front of us, ready to be enjoyed!

"For you are recognizing [more clearly] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [His astonishing kindness, His generosity, His gracious favor], that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich (abundantly blessed)." 2 Corinthians 8:9 (AMP)
