No bits and pieces of God´s goodness...

"O taste and see that the Lord is good..."
Psalm 34:8

Human beings are normally moved by what they see. Many of us will say we like or we don´t like a certain kind of food by simply looking at it. If it looks good, even though we might have never tasted it before, we will not hesitate to try it. On the other hand, we will say we don´t like it simply by how it looks.

Many situations in our lives don´t look the best, and we might find it difficult to see any profit in it. That is our great challenge: to walk by faith and not by sight - it’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going (2Cor 5:7).

To taste means to eat something in small quantity, allowing one to have a real experience with it. When the bible invites us to TASTE, it is calling us to realize that we don´t need to wait till the next great happening in our lives to experience the goodness of God. And even when the situation doesn´t look good, we are able to prove of God´s goodness as we pray like Paul did for the Christians in Ephesus:

" ... that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you" Ephesians 1:18 (AMP)

When we talk with the Holy Spirit throughout our day, we are opening room to TASTE of his goodness, and we all know that once we have TASTED and SEEN that something is good, the next step is: MORE OF IT! God doesn´t give his presence and love in bits and pieces.

"...for God gives the [gift of the] Spirit
without measure [generously and boundlessly]!" John 3:34 (AMP)

We should always remember what Jesus taught...

"If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?" Matthew 7:11 (MSG)

We have a good God who delights in giving good things to his children even when things don´t look good on our side. Therefore, let us taste and see that our God is like no other. He alone is good indeed! Let us open up for new experiences with his goodness and love on a daily basis! There is so much in store for us!
