Guilty no more!

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus"
Romans 8:1

It is interesting how it is easier to accept that we are not under condemnation anymore when it comes to things we did in the past. But we cannot lose sight that Jesus´ perfect sacrifice reaches our past, present and future. Just think that when He died and rose again none of us were born yet, and yet He forgave all of our sins, mistakes at the cross when none of them had happened already.

Jesus wants us to be confident TODAY that there is no condemnation for something we may have done a minute ago. That is why Paul says there is NOW no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We are united with Jesus the very moment we first believed Him as our Savior onwards, and now nothing can ever separate us from Him. It is not like every time I do something wrong I will be separated from him and once I repent I am united to him again. No! Paul puts it this way in Romans 8:33 on:

"Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

(...) For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

It is important to see ourselves as Jesus sees us. He sees us clean and purified by his blood which CONSTANTLY washes us. Even at the moment we fail, His blood is running over us and cleansing us.

As we confess these truths, like "there is NOW no condemnation for me for I am 100% clean by Jesus blood, I am the righteousness of God", our behavior will come in alignment with our declaration. So declare such truths about yourself! It is life changing because it is mind changing for our mind is changed by what we hear! This is what repenting really means! To rethink! To think diferently! To think from a heavenly perspective... with Jesus´ mind! And we HAVE the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16).

So, next time you feel like there is any kind of condemnation coming to your heart, confess who you ARE in Christ, you are righteous, a beloved child of God, purified and sanctified by Jesus´ work at the cross!
