Born for GREATER THINGS




"... whoever believes in me will do the works I do, 
and they will do even greater things than these..."
John 14:12

We all are created by a GREAT God. Things around us  (the skies, the oceans, etc) give us a glimpse of HOW GREAT is our God. The bible says that we are created after God´s own image and likeness (Gen 1:26,27). No wonder every single person, deep within, has the desire to be GREAT, to DO great things, to PROSPER, to be SUCCESSFUL. It is not wrong to desire ALL that because we were BORN for ALL these things!! 

We have a GREAT GOD who DOES GREAT THINGS and we, as his children, are his partners here on earth to ACCOMPLISH these GREAT things. God has GREAT DREAMS, and He places his GREAT dreams in men´s hearts! We have an appettite for the impossible, but frustration will come every time we try to reach for it apart from God, on our own, trusting our faculties, habilities, talents and efforts. 

During Jesus´earthly years, He showed us that He could do NOTHING without the Father (John 5:30). He was fully dependent on Him and THAT WAS THE REASON why He succeeded in everything He did on earth as a HUMAN BEING!... Because He -is- also a MAN, He can guaratee us that our TRUST IN HIM will cause us to DO GREATER THINGS than He did. This promise is for us! This promise is not for LIFE IN ETERNITY, this promise is to be fulfulled as we LIFE ON EARTH! IT IS DESIGNED TO BE FULFILLED RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW! 

After stating that promise, He says " And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son." (John 14:13) and he adds " You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." (John 14:14). Are we really AWARE of the implications of THESE WORDS? They are NOT lip service!

A great God has GREATER plans for our lives; and he ALWAYS EXCEEDS in everything He DOES!  He didn´t CHOOSE us to live an ordinary life and do ordinary things. Anyone can do the ordinary, but the FATHER will be glorified and honred as HIS CHILDREN desire and do the GREATER THINGS in the name of JESUS! 

Wanna find out what is it that He has in store for you? Ask Him! He also promised that he would surely answer us!

 "Thus says the LORD: ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ " (Jer 33:3)

To every thing there is a season,  and a time to every purpose under the heaven... Ecclesiastes 3:1  Nowadays one of people´s greatest excuses is: "I don´t have time". Taking delight in God´s will...

I often wondered why it seemed to be so hard for us to accept God´s will.  Thinking about this, two things come to my mind: 1) Most of the time we are convinced that our own plans are the BEST way to attain our goals, to reach that place of peace and happiness; 2) We are not aware of God´s LOVE and the fact that every bit of His will has its root in HIS DEEP LOVE towards us. We have been deceived by being led to think that God only displays his will in order to mess up with our own plans. Submitting to his will often sounds like we are being nulyfied; it is usually not taken as a reason for joy, but for sorrow. BUT all that is NOT even close to THE TRUTH about God´s will for our lives. Again: we must remember that ALL HIS WILL IS ROOTED IN HIS DEEP LOVE FOR US!... We are HIS CHILDREN and every good father´s will is to do ALL HE CAN in order to cause his child to live an ABUNDANT LIFE, to prosper in ALL their ways and to be HAPPY.  So everything starts with t

Being a living magnet: attracting good things...

Surely goodness and mercy  shall follow me all the days of my life...  Psalm 23:6 One of the greatest issues in our hearts is doubting. It is like we KNOW in a way that God is good and He blesses us in many ways but we usually see it as a matter of SEASONS. There are seasons when we are happy, healthy, blessed... others not so! and this causes us not to be so SURE that things will be alright all the time .  But king David, even after facing great hardships (riots, persecution, betrayals), he would NOURISH one THOUGHT in his heart: THE ASSURANCE that God´s goodness and love would follow him ALL THE DAYS of his life. The only weapon against doubt is assurance. So we can always fight doubts in our hearts by simply declaring "SURELY his goodness and mercy will follow me"... We also see the prophet Isaiah teaching us such truth concerning our health (physical and emotional):  -Surely- he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows... (Isaiah 53:4)
