Being preserved by Grace and Truth

"Mercy and truth preserve the king (...) " 
Proverbs 20:28



The reason why it is so hard for every human being to deal with DEATH is simply because we were NOT CREATED TO DIE! We were made to live forever and death only came into this world as a curse because of sin. Sin means nothing more than to miss the mark. Since the beginning God had planned for us a life full of GLORY... but HIS plans are NEVER FRUSTRATED! 

“I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted.(Job 42:2)

Neither sin or any curse would be able to STOP HIS PLANS TO BE FULFILLED! He provided us a way to come back to his purpuse and therefore He sent JESUS to receive that curse IN OUR PLACE, to DIE so that we could LIVE as He first planned. The consequence of that is that NOW we are able to live a life PRESERVED by his GRACE, for He has delivered us from every curse: diseases, poverty, unhappiness, and even death! ...not because of anything we DID or need to DO, but because of HIS infinite love and favor! That which we could not accomplish by our efforts, Jesus accomplished by his DEATH & RESSURECTION so that now we can have LIFE and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). The only THING we need to DO is to be conscious of Jesus´ finished work at the cross! He paid that price for us! We only need to BELIEVE that!

So let us have his grace and truth to preserve our lives for "He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler." Psa 91:4

Surely goodness and mercy  shall follow me all the days of my life...  Psalm 23:6 One of the greatest issues in our hearts is doubting. It is like we KNOW in a way that God is good and He blesses us in many ways but we usually see it as a matter of SEASONS. There are seasons when we are happy, healthy, blessed... others not so! and this causes us not to be so SURE that things will be alright all the time .  But king David, even after facing great hardships (riots, persecution, betrayals), he would NOURISH one THOUGHT in his heart: THE ASSURANCE that God´s goodness and love would follow him ALL THE DAYS of his life. The only weapon against doubt is assurance. So we can always fight doubts in our hearts by simply declaring "SURELY his goodness and mercy will follow me"... We also see the prophet Isaiah teaching us such truth concerning our health (physical and emotional):  -Surely- he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows... (Isaiah 53:4)

Learning to manage time...

To every thing there is a season,  and a time to every purpose under the heaven... Ecclesiastes 3:1  Nowadays one of people´s greatest excuses is: "I don´t have time". But it really amazes me  how that Jesus seemed to have time to every little and big thing as he walked on earth! It is interesting to think that, besides all the daily concerns people normally have (working, making the bed, doing the dishes, being with family...), Jesus was here on earth as GOD as well, so we could sum up some more  concerns there!  YET, he was not moved by schedules, but by love and compassion.  When Jesus saw her, He felt great compassion for her,  and said to her, “Do not weep.”  Luke 7:13 It amazes me how that he would manage his agenda. A number of times we read passages showing that he made his communion with the Father his priority! Taking delight in God´s will...

I often wondered why it seemed to be so hard for us to accept God´s will.  Thinking about this, two things come to my mind: 1) Most of the time we are convinced that our own plans are the BEST way to attain our goals, to reach that place of peace and happiness; 2) We are not aware of God´s LOVE and the fact that every bit of His will has its root in HIS DEEP LOVE towards us. We have been deceived by being led to think that God only displays his will in order to mess up with our own plans. Submitting to his will often sounds like we are being nulyfied; it is usually not taken as a reason for joy, but for sorrow. BUT all that is NOT even close to THE TRUTH about God´s will for our lives. Again: we must remember that ALL HIS WILL IS ROOTED IN HIS DEEP LOVE FOR US!... We are HIS CHILDREN and every good father´s will is to do ALL HE CAN in order to cause his child to live an ABUNDANT LIFE, to prosper in ALL their ways and to be HAPPY.  So everything starts with t
